Terms & Conditions

We believe in keeping things clear and easy to understand. Here’s a summary of our key service terms:
  • Minimum Term
    All services are subject to a 12-month minimum term except for bitCONNECT on-net such as Qurtuba Fibre.
    If you relocate during this period, the 12-month term will restart at the new address.
    Cancelling during the minimum term will incur a R2,000 early termination fee.
  • Cancelling Your Service
    We require one full calendar month’s written notice for all cancellations.
    Please email your cancellation notice to support@bitconnect.co.za.
    A calendar month runs from the 1st to the last day of that month.
    (Example: notice given on 12 February means cancellation takes effect on 31 March.)
  • When Billing Starts
    Billing begins once your fibre line is installed and activated by the Fibre Network Operator (e.g. Openserve, MetroFibre)—not from the date you start using the service.
  • How Billing Works
    Internet services are billed monthly in advance and prorated from your activation date.
    Your first invoice may include:
    A prorated amount from activation to the end of that month, and
    The full amount for the next month.
    All invoices are due within 10 days of issue.
    If payment isn’t received, services will be suspended automatically 7 days after the due date.
  • Ongoing Billing & Suspension
    Unless you’re on a prepaid service, your account continues to be billed until a written cancellation is received—even if:
    Your service is suspended due to non-payment, or
    You’re not actively using it.
    You are responsible for all charges until cancellation is confirmed in writing.
  • Debit Order Returns
    If you choose to pay via debit order and the debit is returned unpaid, a R69 processing fee will be added to your account.

WiFi Router Options
  • Own router: You already have a compatible router and the knowledge to configure it.
  • Router up to 100Mbps: Suitable for packages up to 100Mbps
  • Router up to 500Mbps: Recommended for lines of up to 500Mbps. 802.11ac WiFi Wave 2 and Gigabit Ethernet ports (Recommended)
  • Router up to 1Gbps: Max. Internet capability of up to 1Gbps. 802.11ax WiFi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet ports
Important Notes
  • Installation must be withing 2M from an electrical outlet (plug point).
  • Pricing and product availability are subject to change without prior notice
  • All specials and promotions are limited to stock on hand where applicable
  • Equipment installed by the network operator (e.g. Vumatel) remains the property of Vumatel and must not be removed.
